Hesitation Studios® is proud to present a prototype version of concentration to play on the Dr.Java console. This prototype Concentration© game is adapted from the hit TV game show “Concentration” which was was hosted by Jack Barry, and was on the air from around 1958 - 1991, and it’s original daytime series, which aired on NBC for 14 years, 7 months, and a whopping 3,770 telecasts from August 25, 1958, to March 23, 1973. The game is essentially a card game in which the player or players will pick two cards at random to turn over, and attempt to match them. Each failure will hide the contents of the cards again, thereby requiring the user’s concentration (or memory) to find others that match.
To play our prototype version, we will display a 5 by 4 array of cards on the Dr.Java console from which you will have the choice of picking two numbers—1 through 20—done through keyboard input from you, the player. This will redisplay the card array again, this time with the chosen cards revealed. The objective is to find matching pairs of cards. As mentioned above, each failure will hide all the cards again, and in this manner, require your concentration and memory to remember which cards were where, to match them.
