Don't Worry About Viruses, Download McAfee!

McAfeeThese days, computers have become very significant and important in our lives. We use them for many purposes (research, studying, entertainment etc.). Almost every person that uses a computer knows about the consequences and damages that computer viruses contribute to. Just by opening an email, or downloading an unknown software you could "invite" or let a virus inside the computer's hard drive. However, there are several ways of preventing that from happening and protecting your computer. The most common way of protecting your harddrive is by downloading an antivirus software, such as McAfee.

McAfee Antivirus software basically blocks/prevents viruses from entering your computer system and quarantines viruses that have broken through the computer's firewall. As a start McAfee uses an automatic web crawler to update its virus database. The web crawler scans the Internet and identifies malicious software by name, type and destructive capability. Having that information, the software is able to scan for a way to delete the malicious software. When the scan is complete, the program is prepared to impede the entry of malware on a McAfee Scan computer system or destroy it, if it is already on the system.

McAfee Scan Once the virus database is updated, McAfee Antivirus software strengthens the computer's firewall. Some antivirus software is not equipped to keep out all threats (especially new and complex), because all software doesn't perform a search that is thorough enough to identify and handle the Internet's new threats. The case with McAfee Antivirus software is different, and that's why the firewall is nearly impenetrable. Nothing can enter your computer system if you don't let it do that, which in most cases happens when you don't completely know what kinds of softwares you download or use. When that happens though McAfee notifies you (a warning is issued). The firewall on some versions of McAfee extend to the Internet, so that you know whether a website is harmful or not while you surf the web. If, by accident, you allow a virus past the firewall and into your system by downloading an infected program or opening a corrupted email attachment, the last line of defense is the virus scan tool, which finds and kills or contains malware for manual deletion.

The McAfee virus scan utility searches every file on your computer system for malware and compiles a list of malicious software that you can delete at the end of the scan. McAfee Antivirus's database allows the program first to detect and then eliminate threats quickly with a thorough scan.
