Tic Tac Toe is one of the oldest games known to man, but it is still cherished and loved today by many. The game dates back to the Roman Empire in the first century BC when it was called Terni Lapilli. Many carved grids have been excavated throughout the Roman Empire. The Romans used counters or stones to play the game, so the grids could be used over and over. Today the game is often played with paper and pen or with a reusable grid and markers.
